This innovative, 17-home, in-fill urban subdivision utilizes shipping containers for affordable, single-family housing.  Each home is built on a small lot with minimum setbacks to offer pride-of-ownership for home buyers with limited resources.  The homes take advantage of solar access for passive heating and daylighting and the sustainable re-use of metal shipping containers.  The 1,280 sq. ft. container homes are the first of their kind in Idaho and have received a warm welcome for their progressive, modern alternative to suburban, cookie-cutter housing.
